Our summer school is run each year to offer individuals the opportunity to learn and experience some of the theory and practical elements of client-centred Play Therapy. Participants who attend will be able to use their learning to enhance both their understanding of children’s emotional and behavioural development and their skills in working with children who experience difficulties.

The summer school is mainly workshop-based as we aim to learn through practice and experience.

Participants are asked to come prepared to play!

Course Content

· Client-centred theory.

· Play Therapy theory and techniques.

· Understanding and using symbolic play.

· Use of different media when working with children (e.g. sand, clay, artwork, drama)

Learning Objectives

· Understand theory of client-centred Play Therapy with children.

· Learn client-centred Play Therapy skills.

· Understand and use the symbolic process of children's therapeutic play.
