The Art Therapy summer school provides participants with an opportunity to engage in a deeper and more intensive exploration of the art therapeutic process in 5 consecutive days. Participants will be invited to engage in a range of art making process to explore their own personal symbols and unconscious imagery in a safe and playful environment. Notions of shared or collective experience will also be explored along with how Jungian theory may inform the art therapeutic triangular relationship.

Links will be made to theory and clinical practice. Insight derived from the workshop aims to heighten participants’ understanding and sensitivity to non-verbal communication.

This week provides direct experiential learning about art therapy and the ethos of the training on the MA Art Therapy Programme at Roehampton. It is therefore of interest to anyone wishing to find out more about training as an art therapist or artists wanting to explore art making in a unique environment

Participants should wear clothes that they are comfortable to make art in. A degree of active participation will be expected from all participants.
